I wrote about my George lineage in an earlier post (April 10). I stated then, I knew there were links to the family still in Alabama, and their contributions were welcome.
I made contact this week with someone that is possibly linked to my George lineage. I learned of other names that linked back to Stephen; siblings Cornelia, Hettie and Lucinda "Lucy' George. Excited to finally piece together another missing link in the George lineage! However, we now have two 1870 census records. Which one is correct? Was Stephen from the Blakely/Cedar Springs or Savannah/Chatham, Georgia? Is there possibly two siblings with the same name? That appears to be the naming pattern. Which path do you take?
Stephen George, my paternal great-grandfather was born in Georgia abt 1855. He migrated to Alabama between 1870 and 1880, as indicated on the available census records. (1880 - 1920) Below is a snapshot of Stephen George's family prior to his migration to Alabama.
