Surname Saturday: George

My “George” lineage is from Henry/Houston, County Alabama and Georgia.  This is a small snippet into the paternal side of my family. My great grandparents were:
  • Cealy (Celia, Selie, Sealie)  George – B: abt 1858  in Haleburg, Al
  • Stephen (Steave) George – B: abt 1853 in Georgia
Stephen and Cealy were married in 1879.  The 1900 Census states they are were married for 21 years.  My great grandparents had eight living children.  (Between the 1900 and 1910 Census, it shows thirteen children, and only eight living.)  Children: Jolina or Lauine, (B: 1879), Max (B: 1884), Leaman (B: 1882/1886)) Evey (B: 1889), Vinsey (B: 1888), Stephen (B: 1890/1894), Appietine (B: 1897), and Burdeshard (B: 1899)

*Appietine (Appie) was my grandmother.  From what I was told by a relative, she passed away about the age of 36.
