I found someone searching my great-grandfather 's name, John Jackson. Since I saw no other information ( no family tree or profile) I wasn't going to contact them. I thought about it for a few minutes, and came back to the contact information. I sent the person an email not exptecting a response - just curious.
Later in the evening, I received a response back. We passed information back and forth today. It appears that individual is the grandson 3x's removed of my great grandfather John Jackson.
I only knew my great grandfather's name. Through my research, is where I found his history. Another piece of the puzzle falls into place.

Good luck in pursuing this line. Some of those first few puzzle pieces are slow to find (mine certainly were), and there are always brick walls, but if you keep at it more information will eventually be found.

This was a real surprise. I was very excited - it's been a long time searching this line. To finally get a lead was a WOW. I had to contact family, and my research goup to let them know what happened. When you least expect to find things, it's amazing what you uncover.
